Church of St. Barbora

A three-aisled Gothic church built by ambitious townsmen on the site of the Prague Chapter beyond the town walls (beyond the province of the Sedlec monastery). Construction of the church began in 1388; according to several sources the church was intended to be twice as large as it actually is. Work on the church was interrupted several times and was not definitively completed until 1905.

The building was ensured by the Prague building works during 1330 - 1420 and the influence of the Cistercian monastery in Sedlec is apparent here. The original project counted with a two-tower church, however the second tower was never completed. From the 1430s to 1620 the Utraquist Church administrated it. An interesting Late Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque inventory has been preserved in the church...

Church of the Virgin Mary in Náměť

Built at the end of the 14th century on the site of a Medieval ore merchant's market. In 1470, the church burnt down and it was gradually the tower and vaulted ceilings were built after the fire. The famous artist of Czech Baroque Petr Brandl is buried in the church.

The largest and most demanding constructed building structure, which has been preserved on Czech territory from the period around 1300. It is the first cathedral type building in Bohemia, which was significantly reformed in the spirit of the onsets of the original development of Central European Gothic.
